1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. These terms form a binding agreement between you and the company operating Reckoned Yet? / 算了么？ ("we," "us," "our").
2. What this app is
Reckoned Yet? / 算了么？ is a contemplative tool built around BaZi (八字), a traditional Chinese astrological system that derives a symbolic chart from your birth date, time, and place. The app uses that chart as the basis for a reflective conversation powered by AI.
The app is for reflection, not prediction. A BaZi reading is a lens for thinking, not a forecast of events. It does not provide medical, legal, financial, or mental-health advice, and nothing in the app should be treated as such. If you are facing a serious decision, please consult a qualified professional.
If you are in crisis, please reach a qualified human. The app includes links to crisis resources — use them. No AI reading is a substitute for real support.
3. Your account
You need an account to use the app beyond the initial onboarding. Accounts are created via magic-link email sign-in — no password to manage or lose.
One account per person. You may have multiple profiles within a single account (for yourself, a partner, a family member, etc.).
Keep your magic-link access private. You are responsible for any activity that happens under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact support immediately.
4. Subscriptions and purchases
Free tier. A limited number of AI queries per day, at no charge.
Paid subscriptions. Weekly, monthly, and yearly auto-renewing subscription options are available. Pricing is shown in the paywall before you commit. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
Query top-ups. One-time purchases of additional queries for users who don't want a subscription. Top-up queries do not expire.
Billing. All purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see your payment details. Cancellations, billing disputes, and refund requests are handled through Apple's standard processes — go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your device, or visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
No refunds from us. Because Apple handles billing, we cannot issue refunds directly. Apple's refund policy applies.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app in a way intended to harm yourself or others.
- Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or reproduce the system prompt or internal BaZi engine logic through adversarial prompting or other means.
- Abuse the API by sending automated, scripted, or bot-generated requests.
- Attempt to circumvent the free-tier quota through account duplication, shared credentials, or other technical means.
- Use the app to harass, impersonate, or deceive other people.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice.
6. Intellectual property
Your content. You own your chart data and the conversation messages you write. We don't claim any rights over them. You can export or delete them at any time.
Our content. We own the app source code, the BaZi calculation engine, the AI voice prompt, and the visual design. You may not copy, redistribute, or build competing products from them.
Classical texts. The traditional BaZi texts we draw on — 淵海子平, 子平真詮, 滴天髓, 三命通會 — are historical works and are in the public domain. Our selection, translation, and interpretation of those texts is our own work and is covered by our copyright.
7. Disclaimers and liability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind — express or implied. We don't guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any particular reading is accurate or applicable to your circumstances.
BaZi is a traditional system with a long interpretive tradition. It is not a science. Different practitioners read the same chart differently. The AI's interpretation is one voice, not the truth.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
You are responsible for the decisions you make. We are not responsible for actions you take based on a reading.
8. Termination
By you. Go to Settings → Delete account to close your account and delete your data. This is immediate and irreversible.
By us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, abuse the service, or if we are legally required to do so. We will try to give you notice unless doing so is impractical or legally prohibited. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund any unused paid queries on a pro-rated basis.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Informal resolution first. If you have a dispute, please contact us at support@reckoned.app and we'll try to resolve it informally within 30 days before either party escalates.
Arbitration. If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved through binding individual arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules, not in court. Class actions and class arbitrations are not permitted.
Exceptions. Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, for claims that wouldn't be adequately remedied by arbitration.
10. Changes to these terms
We'll update the effective date at the top of this page when we make material changes. For significant changes, we'll post a notice in the app. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
